Dr Sami Yamin
Dr Sami Yamin is the Principal Psychologist at The Brain Place. He is a Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 15 years of experience in both the public and private sectors.
Sami is a strong advocate of the scientist-practitioner model and has authored a number of publications in the areas of schizophrenia, new technologies in mental health treatment and medication management in schizophrenia. He has also supervised a number of postgraduate research students.
He holds senior public appointments in psychiatry for Monash Health and has held a range of public roles including neurosciences, geriatric medicine, general medicine, acute rehabilitation and assessment of acquired brain injuries.
Sami has expertise in adult and aged neurology, neurodegenerative disorders, assessment and rehabilitation of acquired brain injury, and the cognitive manifestations of psychiatric conditions across the lifespan (schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, anxiety disorder, depression and personality disorders).
Dr Eleftheria Kotsopoulos
Eleftheria (Elie) is a Clinical Neuropsychologist with extensive experience across paediatric, adult, and older adult client groups.
During her career spanning more than ten years, she has worked across both private and public sectors. She currently holds senior public appointments with the paediatric rehabilitation service at the Monash Children’s Hospital.
Elie has extensive experience in rehabilitation and is passionate about assisting individuals and families through the various stages of recovery. She is a Fellow of the College of Clinical Neuropsychologists and is a Board Approved supervisor to postgraduate students and registrars. Elie is also a passionate researcher and has published extensively in the areas of dementia, adult psychiatry and aged psychiatry.
Her diverse experience has enabled her to help individuals clarify diagnosis with regard to their cognitive functioning and assisting individuals and families adjust to an acquired brain injury using a strengths-based framework.
